BALLOTS - VOTE!

Ballots for the Primary Election are in the hands of voters.  Don't miss a chance to talk to your friends, relatives and neighbors and remind them that they 'want' to vote.

Check the Voters' Pamphlet and the Video Voters' Guide on CVTV Ch 23: Google CVTV, pick schedule.

Look at the schedule of Candidate interviews today at www.cityofvancouver.us/\cvtv/cvtvindex.asp

We Democrats are the winners - We have a President in the White House and a Congressional majority.  We're on top and we should stay there.  All that 'poor little Democrats' rhetoric is just propaganda from our opponents to discourage.  No need to be discouraged!  Encourage folks to continue the winning streak by VOTING.

What's OFA again?

OFA stands for Organizing For America and was begun as a rallying force for the 2008 Barack Obama campaign.  It had the desireable quality of bringing people together who were positive about Obama but were not accustomed to strong involvement with the traditional political parties.

OFA is in full force today and is assisting toward a 2012 Obama victory.  Activities locally and nationally abound.  People meet and discuss issues and bring issues and information to their neighbors.

As of Saturday Jul 17, OFA is working hand-in-glove with the State Coordinated Campaign to Elect Democrats, especially Patty Murray and Denny Heck!

Information about OFA can be found at mybarackobama.com.

There are several local OFA groups including Young Democrats, North Vancouver, 17th LD, and more.

Their mission statement from the website is:

"Organizing for America (OFA) is made up of people like you, empowering local communities across the country to build support for change. But we face an enormous task. With your help, OFA is helping President Obama make this change into a reality by:

  • Spreading the word through the community on the big issues facing our nation
  • Serving the community in order to rebuild America
  • Connecting with other supporters to form strong local groups"

CCDCC ACTION!

The Clark County Democratic Central Committee endorsed a fine candidate and 2 Initialtives at the regular monday meeting in July.

JANET SEEKINS - This serious candidate for County Assessor won uncontested nomination/endorsement in her bid to succeed Linda Franklin.  Janet is a highly qualified, experienced member of the Assessor Department.

Referendum 52 and Initatives 1100 & 1105 were also voted on.

R52 deals with making environmental improvements to Washinton schools that are inefficient to reduce costs and help keep them operating.  It was endorsed.

I-1100 & I1105 deal with privatizing Washngton liquor sales. They are opposed because they will cause a significant reduction to Washington revenue, and will cut overall jobs.

PICNIC PRESS RELEASE

"DEMOCRATS SUPPORT SHARE
County Democrats 2nd Annual Picnic Proceeds Donated to Share
The Clark County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC) held its second annual picnic on
Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Leverich Park for volunteers and activists.
The event organizers were pleased by the turn out of approximately 100 people. Participants
were encouraged to provide food and cash donations for Share at the picnic. Between the food,
fellowship, and rrousing speeches a good time was had by all.

In addition, $230 in donations and approximately 200 pounds of food were delivered to Share on behalf of the CCDCC. “We recognize economic conditions are still very tough for many of our neighbors and the Clark
County Democrats will continue to support Share and its mission here in our community,”
said Dena Horton, CCDCC Chair.

Non-perishable food is collected at monthly CCDCC meetings and several CCDCC members
participate in raising funds and cooking meals for Share on a regular basis.

Previously, a friendly rivalry game of softball between the Clark County Democrats and Republicans also
raised cash donations for Share. “Our elected officials and candidates are all working very
hard and we were not able to get schedules aligned this year. However, we are looking
forward to playing softball against the Republicans next year,” said Dena Horton, CCDCC
Chair.

More information about the CCDCC may be found at www.bluedonkeys.com."
