Women In Black Wednesday Evening Vigils

In front of Fort Vancouver Library on Mill Plain Avenue
The WIB (Women in Black) vigil is every Wednesday 4:30 -5:30 PM in front of the main library on Mill Plain Blvd.
Men are also invited to join us...Bring signs, if you wish...Our main focus is ending the war in Iraq.
1. Wear black.
2. You may, if you wish, make a black & white sign...such as: "End the War, " "Bring our Troops Home," "War Cures Nothing".
3. We maintain silence, taking a serious stance, not talking, or waving...just vigilant; thus, respecting the same mode as the state, national and world WIB organizations.
4. We hope to have more participants each week, but anyone can come, on any Wednesday. One doesn't need to feel that she/he has to be present at every vigil. We've been having between 10 and 13 people show up at each vigil.
5. Please DO NOT PARK in the library parking lot. Convenient parking is available in the tennis court area behind the library.
Responses have included drivers honking, waving, giving "thumbs up" and pedestrians have thanked us for "being there." Besides affirming them, we definitely affirm ourselves!

Congressional District Caucuses and the State Convention - The third and final tier of the Caucus-Convention Cycle consists of Congressional District Caucuses and the State Convention. Congressional District Caucuses will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 beginning at 10:00 am. 51 delegates and 9 alternates representing presidential candidates are elected at Washington's 9 Congressional District Caucuses. Delegates and alternates elected at the Congressional District Caucuses will attend the National Democratic Convention which will be held in Denver, CO from August 25-28, 2008.
