Issues, including proposed county ordinances for protecting wetlands, habitat, parks and greenways, as well as opportunities for environmenal stewardship, will be on the table for the first forum April 13th.

"We will start by exchanging ideas and information about what is happening and what needs to happen on the environmental front," Stuart said Friday. "Last year I held similar forums on location-specific issues and controversies. This year I want to look at emerging issues that concern people."

Subsequent forums will include growth issues, transportions and anything that has residents upset, he said. Stuart added that the concerns need not be tied to specific projects or events.

Stuart said he hopes comments will show "the best way for the county to tackle our major concerns."

The initial forum will be from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, April 13 on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouvwer. Other meetings willb e held about every other month, he said.
