Clark College and the League of Women Voters of Clark County are
co-sponsoring Candidates' Nights for both the Primary and General Elections.
These events will be held in Gaiser Hall at Clark College and will be
recorded by Clark-Vancouver Television (CVTV), channels 23 and 21, for
repeated airing prior to the elections.

Primary Election Candidates' Night: Tuesday, August 22; forum begins at 7
p.m.

General Election Candidates' Night: Tuesday, October 17; forum begins at
6:30 p.m.

Candidates are invited to participate in several ways.

* All candidates may display materials on tables provided for your use
and visit with audience members before and after the forum. Signs may be
propped up on your table but may not be displayed away from the table.
Depending on the number of candidates attending you may need to share a
table.
* If candidates' name will appear on the Primary ballot but the decision will actually be made at the General Election, you are invited to make a 1 to 2
minute statement about who you are and why you are running. This opportunity is only offered to the candidate, no substitutes will be accepted.
* Where voters' decisions in an election will eliminate one or more
candidates, the sponsors of Candidates' Nights will prepare questions for
the candidates and the moderator will determine speaking order for
responses. Candidates can pick up a copy of the prepared questions about
half an hour before the event starts. Candidates will also be given the
opportunity to make opening and closing statements. Again, we want to hear
from the candidates and no stand-ins will be allowed.

We will not be able to give you the exact amount of time you'll be given to
either tell us about yourself and why you're running (candidates who are
unopposed in the Primary Election) or to respond to questions until we learn
how many candidates plan to attend. We would appreciate an RSVP from you
prior to the 18th if you will participate in the August 22 event.
