Young Dems Celebrate Earth Day at Clark College

When Clark County Young Democrat Angel Betts heard that Clark College was thinking of skipping an Earth Day celebration this year she wasn't having any of it. Although the College has promoted Earth Day in the past, this year no one was taking charge of the preparations and as late a month ago it looked like Clark might not have any major Earth Day Events this year.

Instead, Angel, an Army Reservist and a student at Clark College, with the help of several other members of the CCYD's, spearheaded the recruitment of groups to set up informational tables regarding a variety of environmental and social causes. In addition, they organized brown-bag forums during the lunch hours and even set up a display of hybrid-cars in the Clark College parking lot on Friday, April 22.
